In this course, you’ll discover how to embed data into Archicad elements using Properties, which can then be used in ‘smart documentation’ through automatic labels, schedules, and legends, and exchanged via smart models or Excel.

We will also show you how to increase the quality and accuracy of your BIM model, make smarter, more detailed schedules and documentation, interactive legends, and much more!

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Understand the use of data in BIM for model accuracy, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Learn best practices for organizing BIM model information, Quality Assurance, and data management.
  • Have a clear understanding of Archicad’s Scheduling interface to create any desired schedule from scratch.
  • Utilize Properties and Data for smart and accurate documentation through property labels, interactive schedules and legends, keynotes, and more.

Target Audience

This course is for new users who have taken the Getting Started with Archicad course, or for current Archicad users who are looking to enhance their skills. 

Quizzes and Tests

You will have access to a related quiz upon completing the relevant content, and you will also have the opportunity to retake them before completing the course. To earn points towards your AIA LUs, achieve a minimum score of 80% on the quiz and complete the satisfaction survey.

Software Requirements

The exercise file in this course has been created using the USA language version of Archicad 25 which means that the work environment and some of the content may be different if you are using a different language version. 

Recommended Learning

We recommend you complete the following courses in order to be able to actively follow the trainer's presentation and demonstrations in Archicad:

  • Getting Started with Project Documentation in Archicad
  • Take your Schematic Model to the Next Stage with Archicad

Access Time Frame

You can access the course materials for 6 months, counting from the first login to the course. Within this time, you can access the course's assessments, download the exercise files and handouts, or watch the recordings. After this, you will be deactivated from the course and will not be able to access any course materials.

Awards

Completing the course material, including the quiz with a minimum score of 80% achievement and filling out the satisfaction survey, will award you points towards achieving 1 point towards your AIA LUs and a Certificate of Attendance in issues automatically in PDF format.

Welcome

Get familiar with the course outline and the agenda. Download the exercise files to be able to follow the course along with the instructor.

Part A | Understanding Data in BIM

In this module, you will review Data Management, Classifications, and Properties.

Part B | Interactive Schedules

In the module, you will cover schedule uses, scheduling process, model preparation, interactive schedule interface, schedule types, and project indexes.

Part C | Scheduling Data

In this module, you will cover element ID management, using data for labels, using properties for Keynotes, expressions, schedules, and layouts.

Properties and Schedules Quiz

Finishing the quiz referring to the previously seen content before proceeding to the subsequent modules is advisable.
